Dual Compound
Dual compound injection technology allows for parts to be molded with two different compounds.
This allows for greater latitude in part latitude for spring rate, damping, and durability.
Applications include:
- Twist Axle bushing
- Compound crank A Bush
- Trailing link bushing
- Control arm bushings
- Subframe mounts
- Torque reacting strut
- Powertrain Mounts#
The additional cost of dual compound technology is primarily limited to the additional cost of the natural waste from the second runner system and marginal increase in tooling to accommodate the dual compound design. The technology was developed in large part to bridge the cost and functionality of conventional (single compound) and hydraulic bushings.
